Every Tuesday night during the months of July and August you can head over to the Sea Crest Beach Hotel in North Falmouth and enjoy a Shore Dinner while digging your feet right into the sand and watching the sun set over the ocean. On a warm summer night nothing sounds better than that!
It was raining earlier in the day I was going to the Shore Dinner (even hailing home in Boston) but by the time I arrived the rain had cleared up! Unfortunately there were still really strong winds and the dinner had to be moved inside. I was disappointed not to sit right on the sand but with many large windows we still had a great view of the ocean and the sunset.
Although the Sea Crest Beach Hotel has been a popular vacation destination for over 50 years, this is only the second annual Old Silver Shore Dinner Series. Every Shore Dinner includes a 1 ½ pound Maine lobster, ½ pound of local steamer clams, ½ pound of East Coast mussels, Chorizo sausage, and native sweet corn on the cob with poached baby potatoes served with drawn butter, lemon and hot sauce. Tickets to the dinner cost $52 per person. For children ages 12 and under or for those who do not eat shellfish there is a $36 per person menu without lobster, clams and mussels that includes Angus burgers, jumbo beef hot dogs, BBQ-roasted free-range chicken, salads, cornbread, Cape clam chowder, sliced summer watermelon, iced tea, lemonade, and cookies.
There is a full bar available at an additional cost and ticket prices include tax and gratuity.
How amazing is this?! Each portion is just full of fresh, local seafood!
I brought my Mom with me since she loves seafood just as much as I do. This is right before we were about to dig in 🙂
We were seated at a table with some great people that we chatted with throughout the entire meal. There was even a trio of musicians playing live music for the crowd.
Look at the size of this steamer!!!!
And this lobster claw! This dinner is definitely worth the $52 ticket price.
We had so much fun at dinner and I look forward to making this a tradition that we go to every summer!
The remaining Shore Dinners will take place on August 11, 18 and 25. Reservations are required and include a full-day parking pass so feel free to head over early and enjoy a nice beach day or dip in the pool.
