Did you know today is National Clams on the Half Shell Day? It is also the last day of March aka Frozen Food Month!
I am so excited to have partnered with Matlaw’s once again and today I am talking about their New England Style Stuffed Scallops. I am a HUGE seafood and shellfish fan and with the warm New England weather right around the corner these scallops are perfect to welcome in the season!
Matlaw’s is based in Gloucester, MA and I was lucky enough to try their Stuffed Clams last June and really enjoyed them. Similar to the clams, the Stuffed Scallops can go right from the freezer to the oven or grill!

Since I don’t have a grill in my condo in Southie I opted for the oven method! Preheat to 450 F and 30 minutes later they are cooked through and ready to enjoy!
These scallops not only make a great appetizer but can really enhance your dinner entree as well! They pair perfectly with a steak for a nice surf and turf.

You can find Matlaw’s Stuffed Scallops and many other delicious seafood options online or at these retailers.
If I microwave just one frozen stuffed scallop, how long must I cook it?

I am not sure exactly. If possible I would try to let it defrost first then cook for 45 seconds to 1 minute in the microwave. If going to microwave from fully frozen I would use the defrost setting until no longer frozen and then microwave for 45 seconds to 1 minute.
