Apple Butter

October 2, 2020October 7, 2020 / Emily G. / Leave a comment

Last week was my birthday and I spent the day apple picking at Honey Pot Hill Orchards in Stowe, MA with my Mom, 2 sisters, and 2 nieces. Although reservations were required due to COVID, there were lots of people there enjoying an unseasonable warm day for the end of September. We obviously took an … Continue reading Apple Butter

Pasta Primavera

I am quickly falling in love with every variety of skinnypasta™ from Gabriella's Kitchen! First was the low carb, high protein fettuccini. Now it is the gluten free and vegan Teff penne.     I am not gluten free or vegetarian/vegan but I do know many people who are and I absolutely LOVE creating recipes that … Continue reading Pasta Primavera

I could seriously eat pasta 24/7. I love all of the different shapes it comes in and how many unique ways you can pair it with veggies and proteins to make countless dishes and never get bored.     For the longest time I thought I had to give up pasta if I wanted to … Continue reading Creamy Pesto Fettuccine with Brussel Spouts and Bacon

Chica de Gallo Salsa and Guacamole

June 14, 2017 / Emily G. / Leave a comment

I cannot resist salsa and guacamole. Especially when it is paired with a freshly made tortilla chip. Like seriously, the chip cannot get into my mouth fast enough. That is exactly what happened when I tried the salsas and guac from Chica de Gallo over the Memorial Day weekend with some friends.     Chica … Continue reading Chica de Gallo Salsa and Guacamole

This sauce is legit knocking my socks off. WHOA. Peanut butter caramel sauce that is not only super easy to make but won't completely blow up my nutrition for the week?   SIGN. ME. I buy this @traderjoes rosemary nut mix every year but it inspired me to try something new with it tonight…and gave me an excuse to break out my @kitchenaidusa pasta press 😍 Chicken air fried in the @ninjakitchen foodi
Sous vide is my favorite way to cook pork and steaks, especially since I don’t have a grill 🥩 Looks super fancy but actually is super easy and never overcooks the meat 👌🏻 A quick sear in the cast iron (or a few minutes under the broiler) always finishes it with the perfect sear too! I use the @anovaculinary sous vide and I love the app which connects via Bluetooth to easily keep my eye on temperature and cook time.
75 and sunny in Boston today (in November!!) so not quite soup weather 😎 But once the temp drops I will wish I had a bowl of this #wontonnoodlesoup from Noodles in the @bellagio hotel 🍜
If you find yourself at @junesallday I highly suggest you get the Couscous with Caponata + Sumac Yogurt…and don’t forget to add the shrimp kebab. Or the grilled lamb. Or the vegetable skewer. All = 🤩
Weeks later and I’m still wishing I could have @carbone_lv spicy rigatoni all over again 😍
The trick to creamy chicken noodle soup without using actual cream? Sauté your vegetables and once tender add some flour. Let it cook for 2-3 minutes then add chicken broth. Bring to a boil then turn to a simmer. Add cooked chicken, uncooked noodles of choice, and milk (I used almond) and simmer for 10 minutes, or until noodles are cooked and soup has slightly thickened 🍲😍 I adapted a recipe from @sallysbakeblog omitting the potatoes but this filling dinner is approx 200 calories per one cup serving and packed full of protein 👌🏻
